Ebay For Freedom

eBay, Depop, Vestiaire Collective, Grailed... selling pre-loved fashion is flying right now. Encouraging a more cyclical, sustainable fashion system, we love the thriftiness, the vintage finds, the opportunity to re-order and declutter. If, like us, you’re looking at your wardrobe and thinking why did I buy that second-skin cream pencil, oh and sorry when am I going to wear those tapered leather trousers… then we know what to do.

Introducing #ebayforfreedom. Sell your pre-loved fashion and donate the profits to organisations fighting modern slavery. A campaign run by Blue Bear Coffee Co. – a single-origin coffee brand that give away all of their profits to anti-human trafficking charities – the aim is to raise money for three incredible organisations working to bring freedom to those trapped in slavery. There are over 40 million people living in slavery right now and one in four of them are children. Modern slavery isn’t always thought of as a twenty-first century issue but it’s present and it’s real. And these organisations are bringing tangible, on-the-ground change.

Unseen support survivors of modern slavery in the UK, helping victims rebuild their lives. They also run the Modern Slavery Helpline – the country-wide resource for potential victims and for raising concerns about potential signs of trafficking. International Justice Mission work across multiple countries, including rescuing children from brothels, bars and street corners in the Dominican Republic, bringing the exploiters to justice and fighting to end child marriage in the country. Justice & Care seek to restore lives – they have a project supporting and helping the recovery of girls who were trafficked into brothels in India.
